Experience
Andrew F. Campbell is Counsel in Ober|Kaler's Financial Institutions Group. He brings to the firm over 25 years’ experience representing banks, thrifts, holding companies, mortgage companies and other financial services firms.
As in-house counsel at both Sallie Mae and Wells Fargo, he regularly handled complex federal and state regulatory issues involving consumer credit, fair lending, mortgage lending, banking, Patriot Act, E-Sign Act and other areas. At Sallie Mae, he represented private education, mortgage banking and financial subsidiaries, and served as general counsel to the bank subsidiary, establishing operating policies and procedures and successfully lobbying the Utah legislature to amend the Utah Consumer Credit Code. At Wells Fargo, where he led the private education credit practice, he drafted and negotiated contracts governing all aspects of the practice area’s business, including business acquisition and information technology agreements, and designed and implemented compliance and training programs.
Most recently, Andrew was an attorney at B Compliant, Inc., a Virginia based law practice dedicated to serving the mortgage banking and financial services industry. At that firm, he developed educational and training materials for mortgage lenders and loan officers, covering traditional and nontraditional mortgage products, predatory lending, and federal and state law compliance issues.
