Nikolaus F. Schandlbauer
Experience
Nikolaus F. Schandlbauer is the co-chair of Ober|Kaler’s Creditors' Rights, Workouts and Bankruptcy Group and a member of the Finance Group. Nick represents financial institutions in connection with the initial documentation, amendment, restructure and workout of commercial credit facilities, including high technology, real estate, asset-based and government contracts lending, and high-end equipment leasing. He is responsible for matters ranging from $5 million to $2.125 billion that involve both privately held and publicly traded borrowers. He also handles agented and syndicated credits for national and state banks and other financial institutions.
Nick also represents financial institutions in commercial Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, in bankruptcy appeals and in state and federal court lender liability actions across the nation. He has conducted dozens of commercial property foreclosures involving real estate collateral located in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia and has represented secured lenders’ interests in bankruptcy proceedings from Florida to Tennessee to New York.
An accomplished litigator, Nick has considerable "first chair" experience in national and regional courts representing banks, corporations and individuals in commercial litigation matters.
