S. Scott Tate

Experience

Scott Tate is a member of Ober|Kaler's Estates and Trusts Group. He concentrates his practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and taxation matters. He advises clients on estate and business planning issues, including business succession planning, charitable giving, asset protection planning, and planning with retirement assets. Prior to his legal career, Scott practiced as a Certified Public Accountant. Scott draws on his accounting background to integrate a client’s estate planning with their income tax planning, advising clients on their entire tax picture, from estate and gift taxes to income taxes. He is also proficient with the administration of decedent’s estates and trusts and advises estate representatives and trustees on post mortem responsibilities and planning opportunities.

Active in the Baltimore community, Scott is President of the board of directors of the Friends of Patterson Park and serves on their Finance Committee. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Baltimore.
