Sarah E. Swank Joins Ober|Kaler's Health Law GroupMarch 10, 2011 Baltimore MD, March 10, 2011 – The law firm of Ober|Kaler announced today that Sarah E. Swank has joined the firm as a principal in the Health Law Group. Ms. Swank brings to her practice over ten years of experience in health law. Before joining the firm, she was Associate General Counsel of Trinity Health, the fourth largest Catholic health care system in the US, assigned to Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, where she directed legal affairs, legal staff and budget for the 450-bed hospital. In that role she provided advice and guidance on a wide range of health law issues facing an acute care hospital, including Stark, anti-kickback, health information technology, privacy, clinical research, health care transactions, governance, due diligence and compliance. She drafted, reviewed and negotiated physician employment, exclusive hospital based and medical director agreements as well as various operational agreements, and supervised the contract management process for approximately 700 contracts annually. Ms. Swank served as a Board member for the hospital’s outpatient open-MRI joint venture.
