Construction lawyer Barbara Werther was featured in Washington DC Women's Weekly in the "Women On Top" column. Barbara shared her views on the growth of women in the legal and construction industries.

She also described the founding of the Women in Construction Conference, a national conference now in its sixth year.

"I was with Barbara Wagner, Executive Vice President from Clark Construction, and in conversation we agreed that now that we’re 'seasoned in the industry,' we need to give something back. We decided to organize a conference and called our women friends in construction for ideas and support. Everyone really got on-board and the first conference was held in November of 2006. The conferences keep growing with a variety of keynote speakers, panel discussions and we’re including several break-out groups for the women and men who attend."
