Sandy Teplitzky Named "Client Service All-Star" for Third Consecutive Year

BALTIMORE MD – January 25, 2010 The law firm Ober|Kaler is pleased to announce that Sanford V. Teplitzky, chair of the firm's Health Law Group, has been recognized as a "Client Service All-Star" in the BTI Client Service All-Stars for Law Firms 2010 survey. Highly regarded by clients and colleagues, Mr. Teplitzky joins a group of only 22 attorneys from across the nation who have received this recognition at least two years in a row, and is one of only 7 attorneys who have received this recognition for three or more years.
Among the comments regarding Sandy Teplitzky, one Fortune 500 health care company noted, "His knowledge in the health care field is outstanding." Others commend his "practical approach to problems" and delivery of "timely expertise in his field."
Mr. Teplitzky represents health care clients in fraud and abuse matters, including government investigations and related matters. His experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues and policies includes representation of clients before the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and in various U.S. district courts and courts of appeals. He represents health care providers with respect to Medicare and Medicaid fraud investigations and related matters. He also represents professional and trade associations, negotiates with state and federal authorities, and provides counsel with respect to a broad range of legislative issues.
Mr. Teplitzky is a frequent writer and lecturer on various health care fraud and abuse issues and is active in the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). A former AHLA president, Mr. Teplitzky chaired the organization's annual fraud and abuse seminar for over 10 years, and was named an AHLA Founding Fellow in 2005. In 2008, Mr. Teplitzky received the Association's prestigious David J. Greenburg Service Award, presented annually to those lawyers who have made significant contributions to the AHLA over the course of their careers. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland School of Law, where he teaches a health care fraud and abuse seminar. Mr. Teplitzky holds degrees from Tulane University School of Law (J.D., with honor, 1975) and Washington University (A.B., 1972).
