Ober|Kaler Adds Associates in Litigation, FinanceAugust 4, 2009 BALTIMORE MD – August 04, 2009 The law firm Ober|Kaler announced today that it has added two associates to its ranks. Michael A. Hass joins the firm's Litigation practice in the Washington, D.C. office, and Kevin P. LaTulip, Jr., who previously worked at Ober|Kaler from 2001-2004, returns to the Finance practice in the Baltimore office. Mr. Hass handles litigation pertaining to both government regulatory issues and white collar criminal defense. Before joining Ober|Kaler, he was an associate in the Litigation Group at Sidley Austin LLP in Washington, D.C. He has also worked as a judicial intern at the Office of Chief Staff Attorney of the Supreme Court of Virginia in Richmond. Mr. Hass is a member of the District of Columbia and Virginia Bar Associations. He holds degrees from Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., summa cum laude, 2007); the London School of Economics and Political Science (M.S., with distinction, 2004); and the College of William and Mary (B.A., magna cum laude, 2002). He is a resident of the Washington, D.C. area. Mr. LaTulip represents lenders and lessors in a broad range of commercial finance transactions. He handles documentation and negotiation of term loans, revolving credits and lease transactions. He also assists clients with forbearance agreements and related aspects of restructuring commercial transactions on behalf of financial institutions. Prior to returning to Ober|Kaler, Mr. LaTulip worked as a commercial finance attorney at Gebhardt & Smith, LLP. He has also served as a law clerk at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in Baltimore, Maryland; as a legal assistant at Freedman, Levy, Kroll & Simonds in Washington, D.C.; and as a teacher at Chesapeake Bay Middle School in Pasadena, Maryland. Mr. LaTulip is active in the American and Maryland State Bar Associations. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D., 2001); the University of Maryland (B.A., summa cum laude, 1997); and St. Mary's College of Maryland (B.A., 1997).
