Sandy Teplitzky Named "Outstanding Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Lawyer"

Teplitzky, chair of the firm's Health Law Group, has been selected by Nightingale's Healthcare News for its 2009 ranking of "Outstanding Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Lawyers." Highly regarded by clients and colleagues, Mr. Teplitzky is one of only twelve attorneys from across the nation selected for the list.

Mr. Teplitzky represents health care clients in fraud and abuse matters, including government investigations. His experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues and policies includes representation of clients before the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and in various U.S. district courts and courts of appeals. He represents health care providers with respect to Medicare and Medicaid fraud investigations and related matters. He also represents professional and trade associations, negotiates with state and federal authorities, and provides counsel with respect to a broad range of legislative issues.

Mr. Teplitzky is a frequent writer and lecturer on various health care fraud and abuse issues and is active in the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). A former AHLA president, Mr. Teplitzky chaired the organization's annual fraud and abuse seminar for over 10 years, and was named an AHLA Founding Fellow in 2005. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland School of Law, where he teaches a health care fraud and abuse seminar.
