Paul Sugar Elected MVLS Treasurer

Ober|Kaler principal Paul Sugar has been elected Treasurer of the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. Paul has served on the MVLS board since 2006. 

MVLS is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal assistance to low-income individuals and families throughout Maryland. Cases handled by MVLS include foreclosure, landlord/tenant, consumer rights, denial of public benefits, wills, deed changes, name changes, and tax disputes. Since its creation in 1981, 2,500 private attorneys have taken more than 44,000 pro bono cases, donating legal services valued at more than $33 million.
