Who is eligible to apply for the grants?
Nonprofit organizations that address children and youth education and welfare issues in Baltimore City and Washington, D.C.

Churches, synagogues, parochial and public schools also may apply if their “umbrella” organizations have tax-exempt status.

 

Will general operating expenses be funded?
Only specific programs. Examples of eligible include, but are not limited to, reading and literacy programs, after-school programs, mentoring programs and parent-child education programs.

 

Who is not eligible to apply for the grants?
Individuals, government agencies and religious organizations requesting funds for sectarian activities.

Start-up funding, capital campaigns, fund raising, galas, advertising, political campaigns and supporting events/tournaments, and scholarships are not eligible for grant consideration.

 

Can I find out why my proposal was not accepted?
Due to the large number of applications that we receive, we are unable to provide feedback to organizations.

If my organization is awarded grant funding, can I acknowledge Ober|Kaler in our annual report and other materials?
Yes
 

When will I be notified if I am a recipient or not?
Applicants will be notified in the fall.
