Estate and Trust Administration
Navigating today’s complex maze of rules, regulations and laws regarding the administration of trust funds and decedents’ estates can be daunting. So, too, are the formidable federal and state income and estate tax compliance requirements.
At Ober|Kaler, members of our Estates and Trusts Group help our clients overcome these challenges. Our experienced attorneys provide administration services that are designed to meet each client's unique needs and objectives. Such services may include serving alone or alongside family members as personal representatives of decedents’ estates and as trustees of trusts. This role typically involves the completion of all the tasks of administration, such as marshalling assets, court filings, periodic accountings, tax analysis and return preparation, and disbursement and distribution of funds. Equally often, we assist with these tasks but do not serve as a personal representative or trustee.
Our experience in administering estates and trusts, coupled with our experience with the local courts and tax authorities, is designed to streamline and simplify what otherwise might be a very difficult and time-consuming process for our clients.
