Coverage of, and Payment for, Paramedic Intercept Ambulance Services Howard L. Sollins
HCFA has published its final rule on reimbursement for intercept ambulance services in rural communities. This rule relaxes the criteria for rural area status and establishes a reimbursement rate for Advanced Life Support (ALS) services at the rate of the ALS rate minus 40% of the Basic Life Support (BLS) rate.
