DHHS Regulation Effective Date and Comment Period Notices Sanford V. Teplitzky
In the first quarter of 2001, the Department of Health and Human Services and its component agencies announced a number of changes to regulation effective dates and comment period deadlines. Below is a list of some of these changes and the e-mail addresses of Ober|Kaler health law attorneys to contact for more information.
Several of these announcements were made in response to a January 20 memorandum from Andrew Card, Assistant to the President. Card’s memo required department and agency heads to withdraw or delay the effective dates of certain regulations until the Bush Administration could review them. An official copy of the Card memorandum was published under "White House Office" in the January 24, 2001 Federal Register.
