On June 10, the AMA released a revised version of its Model Managed Care Contract ("Model"). The AMA released its first edition of this publication in late 1997 to inform and guide physicians and others considering contracts with Managed Care Organizations ("MCOs"). The revised Model details a number of thorny clauses that have become prevalent in MCO contracts since 1997 and discusses additional considerations that physicians should bear in mind when signing a contract with an MCO.
