FY 2001: What the OIG is Looking For William T. Mathias
In October 2000, the OIG posted to the Internet its FY 2001 Work Plan, announcing the investigative and enforcement initiatives that the OIG plans to undertake during this fiscal year. As we stated in our Fall 2000/Winter 2001 edition of the Health Law Alert, “Health care providers and payors should review the 2001 Work Plan to determine whether various aspects of their business operation may be subject to increased government scrutiny. The annual review of the OIG’s Work Plan continues to be an important exercise for the health care industry due to the volatile health care regulatory environment.”
