WASHINGTON, DC – January 07, 2004 Ober|Kaler is pleased to announce that Martha (Marty) Purcell Rogers was selected as one of twelve "Outstanding Healthcare Litigators — 2003" by Nightingale's Healthcare News. Ms. Rogers was selected from a pool of national health care litigator nominations submitted by colleagues and clients. Ms. Rogers, managing principal of Ober|Kaler's Washington D.C. office and Chair of its White Collar Criminal Defense practice, specializes in defending criminal and civil fraud matters, particularly health care and tax fraud. She represents individual and corporate health care providers in all phases of criminal investigation and litigation. Before entering private practice in 1987, Ms. Rogers was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia and the Southern District of Florida, a trial attorney for the Organized Crime & Racketeering Section, Criminal Division, and senior trial attorney for the Criminal Section, Tax Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. Ms. Rogers serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the District of Columbia Bar Association and the Board of Directors for the Council for Court Excellence. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Edward Bennett Williams American Inn of Court. In 1999, Ms. Rogers was selected as Special Counsel by Maryland United States Senator Barbara A. Mikulski in connection with the impeachment trial in the Senate of former President Bill Clinton. Praised as one of the Capital's best white collar defense attorneys, Ms. Rogers has appeared as a legal analyst on CNN, Fox News, Court TV, MSNBC and NBC Nightly News.
