BALTIMORE – June 17, 2008 William T. "Bill" Mathias, a principal in Ober|Kaler's Health Law Group, has been selected by Nightingale's Healthcare News for its 2008 ranking of "Outstanding Fraud & Compliance Lawyers." Nominated by clients and colleagues, Mr. Mathias is one of only twelve attorneys from across the country selected for the list.

This year's ranking marks the second time in five years that Mr. Mathias has been honored by Nightingale's. In 2003, he was selected for the "Outstanding Young Healthcare Lawyer" list.

Mr. Mathias is an experienced health lawyer with a practice focused on fraud and abuse, corporate compliance and reimbursement matters. He writes and lectures frequently on health care fraud and abuse issues.

Mr. Mathias is active in the American Health Lawyers Association, where he co-chairs the Fraud and Abuse Practice Group and serves on the Group's Advisory Opinion Task Force. He is also a member of the American and Maryland State Bar Associations.

A resident of Baltimore, Mr. Mathias holds degrees from Amherst College, (B.A., cum laude, 1990) and the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D., with honors, 1996).
