Carel Hedlund Selected for "Outstanding Hospital Lawyers — 2007"

BALTIMORE MD September 7, 2007 — Ober|Kaler is pleased to announce that Carel T. Hedlund, a principal in the firm's Health Law Group, has been named one of the nation's "Outstanding Hospital Lawyers – 2007" by Nightingale's Healthcare News. Culled from a national pool of candidates, only twelve attorneys in the country were selected for the list.

A health lawyer for more than 20 years, Ms. Hedlund represents hospitals and other facilities on issues involving all aspects of the Medicare program. This includes payment issues such as the wage index, medical education and provider-based status, as well as billing and compliance issues and provider enrollment. She is a frequent author and lecturer on Medicare matters.

Ms. Hedlund is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association's Health Law Forum. She is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law, J.D. (1979) and Upsala College, B.A., magna cum laude, (1970).

Ms. Hedlund resides in Towson, Maryland.
