BALTIMORE – November 3, 2003 Ober|Kaler is pleased to announce that William T. Mathias, 35, has been named among the nation's "Outstanding Young Healthcare Lawyers – 2003" by Nightingale's Healthcare News.

Mr. Mathias was one of twelve honorees culled from a pool of national health care attorneys under the age of 40. Nominated by colleagues and clients, attorneys considered for the list represent high-profile clients, handle multi-million dollar outcomes, and maintain high visibility within the health care legal industry.

Mr. Mathias was selected for his integral role in assisting in the development of a HIPAA compliance strategy for one of the nation's largest home health providers, and for authoring a successful OIG advisory opinion request on behalf of a major pharmaceutical company. He represents clients across the country in all areas of the health care industry, with a particular emphasis on fraud and abuse, corporate compliance, reimbursement and HIPAA privacy matters.

Mr. Mathias is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D., 1996) and Amherst College (B.A., 1990). He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the American, Baltimore City and Maryland State Bar Associations.
