  Experience  

Bill is a principal in the Health Law Group at Ober, Kaler, Grimes & Shriver. He represents clients across the country in all areas of the health care industry, with a particular emphasis on fraud and abuse, corporate compliance, and reimbursement matters. His practice focuses on advising clients on compliance with the federal anti-kickback law, the "Stark" physician self-referral statute, and the federal civil monetary penalty provisions. He also is responsible for conducting internal investigations; defending against government investigations and qui tam false claims cases; representing clients under Corporate Integrity Agreements; assisting clients in developing corporate compliance programs; and addressing HIPAA privacy issues. Bill regularly assists clients in navigating the OIG/CMS Advisory Opinion processes. He has also developed a comprehensive understanding of the reimbursement, licensing, and compliance issues affecting DME/HME suppliers, pharmacies, infusion companies, and other "Part B" suppliers. Bill also has experience negotiating contracts and developing cutting-edge health care business arrangements.

Bill was selected as an "Outstanding Young Healthcare Lawyer" in 2003 and as an "Outstanding Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Lawyer" in 2008 by Nightingale's Healthcare News.
