  Experience

An experienced intellectual property and entertainment attorney, Cynthia focuses her practice on copyright, trademark, advertising, arts and media law matters. She counsels a broad range of clients involved in creative endeavors — from designers to publishers, ad agencies to educational institutions, and interactive companies to film producers.

Cynthia reviews and advises clients on the legal clearance, protection and exploitation of their creative works. Projects include identification and development of new works based on public domain materials, protection of characters, clearance and distribution of motion pictures, development of interactive and online media and compliance review of advertising materials.

Cynthia teaches an annual course on entertainment and sports law at the University of Maryland School of Law and lectures frequently. She is an active board member of several arts-related nonprofits. Her ability to clearly articulate the issues relating to new media and intellectual property issues puts her in high demand as a speaker and author.
